I’ve never witnessed a darts tournament like it!  Just when you thought that the bar could not be raised any higher in the McCoys Premier League it gets blown away by some amazing record-breaking performances in Exeter.

It was a privilege to witness it.  That man Phil Taylor led the way again with a record-breaking performance against Simon Whitlock.  Phil’s average of 117.35 is a record for the event and the second best ever televised average.  On any other day Simon’s three figure average would have secured him a victory!

The mercurial Gary Anderson demolished two times World Champion Adrian Lewis 8 – 1 taking up only 19 minutes on the oche in doing so and the resurgent Barney confirmed his renewed appetite for battle by turning round a 4 – 6 deficit into an 8 – 6 victory over “The Hammer”

James Wade, far too good a player to still be pointless after three rounds, put this to rights with an 8 – 6 defeat of Kevin Painter.

What a night!
