Another uncompromising performance by Phil Taylor over reigning title holder Gary Anderson in Brighton opened up a three point lead for him at the top of the McCoys Premier League with five rounds played.
Without ever hitting the form he has shown in previous weeks Taylor still cruised to an 8 – 1 victory over the Scot and there were also wins for Kevin Painter, Simon Whitlock and James Wade.
James continued where he left off last week and was six legs to one up on Barney at one stage in the contest. Again Barney showed his resilience by fighting his way back into the contest but James just had enough to take the tie.
There are a few problems for double World Champion Adrian Lewis as he lost out to Simon Whitlock by eight legs to four and he now finds himself at the bottom of the table. Knowing Adrian he will work hard to up his game to ensure that he is still participating in the final stages.
