CARISBROOKE ARMS, GOSPORT
Wednesday | 25/09/2013

I was delighted to meet twenty-year-old Reece at the Carisbrooke Arms in Gosport on September 20 and even more delighted that we were able to raise over £1,500 for him and the cancer charity MacMillan.

Eight months ago Reece was diagnosed with cancer of the penis - a very rare form of cancer.  He has remained positive throughout and it says much for his strength of character and how well he is thought of in the community that so many people came out to support him.  He even had the audacity to beat me in a special challenge match!

My thanks go to Tina and Darren for yet another great night at their pub and for all those who helped raise the money for the charity, especially Dave Kilby of Aerial Direct who generously sponsored the event.  There were raffles and auctions aplenty and I am now thinking of putting a “Reserve Price” of £150 on my playing shirts as this was the sum it raised at the auction on the night!
