RAISING THE ROOK IN ABERDEEN
Saturday | 18/02/2012

With 4,000 noisy spectators packed into the venue in Aberdeen it was difficult to hear myself think, let alone compose myself enough to talk sense into the microphone!

The mood was set in the very first match between Barney and Adrian Lewis with Barney showing the form, confidence and silky skills of his great years and Adrian responding with some incredible check outs just to stay in the match.  Ironically, it was Barney’s great check out that clinched the 7 – 7 draw.  It was a fitting result and it was good to see Adrian win over a section of the crowd that was initially hostile by the sheer quality of his darts.

And what more can you say about Phil Taylor!  Kevin Painter raced into a 3 – 0 lead and again was favourite leading 5 – 3 but after Phil’s nine darter we all sensed that the tide had turned.

Add to this Gary Anderson’s victory and the Scots could not have asked for much more from the evening!
